Logging regulations should be strictly enforced. Loggers should not be allowed to cut down trees,
In consonance with the Division Memorandum No.69 series of 2023 entitled: ”DepEd’s 236,000
trees-A Christmas Gift for the Children”, Baya Elementary school Conducted tree planting activity
last December 6, 2023. This is pursuant to Division Memorandum No. 430, s 2023, which encourages
everyone in the division to participate in tree planting activity with a maximum of 30 individuals.
Driven by their overflowing zest and excitement, the combined team from the faculty and learners arrived
at 6:30 in the morning with bolos, garden trowel, hand cultivator and shovels as their digging and planting
paraphernalia.
Baya Elementary school has an area of 1000 square meters. Almost all of the area is occupied by the school building and the small portion of which serves as Gulayan sa Paaralan. But the space near the fence is wide enough for a tree planting Activity. On December 06, 2023, a remarkable program that has evolved out of the experiences is the tree planting activity, which is spearheaded by the school principal Ms. Alma C. Aguirre with the teachers and learners as main players.
A total of 30 (10 rambutan, Cacao 10,langka 5, Guyabano 5) seedlings were planted along the
fence of Baya Elementary School. The participants composed of 10 teachers and 20 learners
simultaneously planted the fruit bearing trees to the assigned spot for planting. With a tender and gentle
hold and touch, each of them carefully cultivated the soil and planted the rambutan seedling to make sure
that it would grow and thrive long enough. The monitoring of trees was given to YES-O and SELG
Officers to make sure the trees will grow and flourish.
The school principal, MS. Alma C. Aguirre, and grade 6 learner Paul Jake San Agustin are laying out and digging
holes for the seedling.
The activity ended successfully, and the participants separated with a smile on their faces, with a feeling of fulfilment for responding to nature's call for preservation and with great hopes that all seedlings planted will grow sturdy and strong for a better place and better environment for the next generation.
